Braids

My braids after about 10 weeks of wearing them.

Christmas 2015

So, this is where I spent my Christmas in 2015 - Israel. Most of the pictures above are taken in Tel-Aviv. Israel is a beautiful place and I'd personally recommend travelling there.

Professional Wedding Pictures

We finally got our professional wedding pictures back! Let me share my favourites with you.

Swimming in the Atlantic

This picture is from the first time I went on vacation on my own for a full two weeks. Before I had only ever gone for a week max, but this summer I was going to Ireland for two full weeks, so I could do all the stuff that I wanted to do: going fishing, going swimming and most of all: going swimming the Atlantic. That was the one single goal I had that summer. This picture shows me achieving it.

First Dance

And here as promised is the video of our first dance to Frank Sinatra's "I've Got the World On A String".

Throwback to... Prague class trip

Throwback to that one class trip to Prague where everyone was legit drunk all the time. Good times. This is me, with a random snake. Some guy on the streets just gave me the snake to take a picture with and as you can see, I was legit confused.

Throwback to... 2010

Here's a throwback to me having terrible hair when I was 14. This was also my first time to visit Ireland with my parents.

Drinks!

Okay, so one thing I like to do when I go out with friends and get cocktails (which I rarely do anymore, because cocktails are incredibly expensive in Ireland... like unreasonably expensive) is to take a picture of the cocktail standing in front of the candle on our table. Those are the results of three of those pictures (that I could still find). I love the glowing and vibrant colours in them. If I have any more cocktails anytime soon, I'll save more of the pictures.

Fushë Kosovë

This picture was taken in Fushë Kosovë, close to the capital of Kosovo, Prishtina. I was on a holiday in Kosovo about two years ago, visiting an old family friend who spent a few years in my hometown as a refugee during the war. Going to Kosovo was an interesting experience. It is a beautiful country with lots of beautiful sights and amazing landscape, but you can also see that there was a war going on not too long ago.

Wedding

So now, as promised, here are some wedding pictures. I didn't take any of these pictures, so credit goes to all kinds of people who sent them to me. And none of those are the professional photographs yet, as those will take about 4-6 weeks to edit and all. They are all amateur pictures taken by friends and family. So enjoy! (I might upload a video of the first dance later)  My mother-in-law made this beautiful cake, by the way!  And those are all my beautiful bridesmaids. They all got their dresses at different places and I'm amazed how the colours match up so well! There are so many people who made this day very, very special for us and we all had an absolute blast! Anyone in Ireland (especially around the east Cork/ Tipperary area) planning any kind of function should check out Kilcoran Lodge Hotel - that's where we had our wedding and the staff and especially Tommy who does all the functions are amazing...

I Am Back!

I'm back! I've been busy getting married and being on my honeymoon all this time, so that's why I didn't post. As soon as I have time I'll share some wedding pictures, as well as lots and lots of pictures and stories from our honeymoon (all through Kerry and West Cork).

3 Days

It's now 3 days until my wedding day. Above is the first picture I took on our first date in Galway. It's been a wild ride getting to this stage and now I'm only panicking about some insubstantial stuff that could or could not go wrong. I'll be a nervous wreck on the day, because I don't like being the center of attention like that. I'm a shy person and this big social occasion makes me extremely nervous and anxious. But you know what? I'm still looking forward to it.

Allpoetry Contest

As some people may have noticed I have practically published all of my poetry on a website called Allpoetry first. It's a nice place to start out for poets. One nice feature on Allpoetry is that the site allows everyone to hold poetry contests. So I have been holding one of those and would like to present to you the three winners of that contest! I'll be doing that over the next couple of weeks, depending on how quickly I can get everything together. I hope you can enjoy their poetry as much as I did!

Black and Red

Guess how old I am in this picture? I'll tell you later, but let me explain a little about it. On this picture are my cousin and I. We used to be extremely close. Now we aren't anymore - I guess our relationship was a victim of circumstances, if you want to call it that. Anyways. We used to meet up frequently and take pictures and do - frankly - pretty stupid things. All of them under the nose of our parents without them realising the extent of our mischief. It was great as far as coining my early youth goes.  I was 14 years old in this picture. There are looooooaads of old pictures of me in teenage rebellion phase and this is one of them. I'm probably going to upload more as I go. And I have a bunch of stories to tell. :)

One More Month

Today is the 5th of September. In one month, I'm getting married, on the 5th of October. And honestly, I'm looking forward to all the stress finally being over and to my honeymoon. Which is still a complete surprise for me. All I know is that it will be a road trip through Ireland, so I hope I can take lots of good photographs. :) Meanwhile, have some celebratory pictures of me and my fiancé.

Discoveries

Okay, guys, this is kind of a personal post. I have just been uploading all the stuff I've written since I was, like, 14 unto my Google Drive and damn... I had forgotten how much I have actually written and how crappy some of it actually was. I am just digging through it. I'll let you see some gems and maybe I'll even translate whole stories for you if I feel the story kind of deserves it. This will be an absolutely hilarious trip, guys. Another thing that surprised me: I remembered how I was going to end most stories and I realized that I must have been a pretty morbid teenager (I still am pretty morbid, tbh). But in most stories some or all of the protagonists were going to die. I still have about 20 German stories up on the Internet somewhere and I am seriously ashamed. Anyways, since this wasn't very productive, have a song that I discovered today: I really like the ethereal vibe it gives off and the subtle melancholy in the song. Give it a listen.

First Post!

Yay, my first post! So I don't really know what is appropriate as a first post, I've never done this before, after the usual sections I was a little lost as to what to do. But I guess, as a first post I can share something personal. Chances are no one will read this blog at this point anyways. In that picture are me and my fiancé on one of our first dates. I met him in Dublin, a friend introduced us and we started texting regularly. After about 6 months of daily texting this picture was taken - when I flew over to Ireland (I was living in Germany at the time) and met him again for the first time. And now after two years here we are - keys to our first rented apartment in our hands and me getting ready to get my wedding dress altered today. Which I'm very nervous about, because the wedding is only two months away and if anything goes wrong, it would be devastating. So thumbs up for me and my dress.
